Trance
Trance is defined as a kind of electronic dance music. Trance used to be very young genre, because it emerged in the 1990s. Trance music has a tempo of approximately from 130 to 155 BPM. Trance contains a blend of different styles such as house, techno and industrial. It combines short synthesizer phrases and some music forms that make down and up through the whole track.
The origin of the term is not clear. Some specialists argue that the term is originated from the album "Trancefer" by Klaus Schulze. The perceived ability of music to effect on modified state of human's consciousness well know as a trance, is a main brick in the term's name derivation.
This kind of music is often played in night clubs and because of this it is defined as a type of club music.

In the 1980s, the well known German composer Klaus Schulze began to compose some experimental music known as "space music". His music was atmospheric and spiritual.
The names of his two albums are the Trancefer and En=Trance. Thus his music was defined by some specialists as trance.
Some trance compositions developed from acid house. "What Time Is Love" and "3 a.m. Eternal" were a great basis for trance music evolution.
KLF works were the first examples of early trance music. Thus, "The Age of Love" was considered as the first real trance composition. The composition "We Came in Peace" was the second highly sounded trance composition. Another prominent composition was the "Papua New Guinea" so called Future Sound Of London.
The early trance music, which was played in German night clubs, had some off-shoot of techno.
In such way, Germany is considered to be a motherland of trance music. German musicians such as Jam El Mar, Oliver Lieb, and Sven V?th were the first trance music performers. Frankfurt was the biggest centre of trance music records. Here some trance labels such as FAX +49-69/450464, MFS Records Eye Q, Harthouse and Rising High Records were based.
Trance music used a lot of different elements such as rhythmic structures and tempo from house and techno music. Moreover, trance added to its new elements and used new concepts. Trance music utilized variable shifts in its beat construction and did not use the "bounce around".
Subgenres of trance
Trance music has a lot of different subgenres. Trance has broken into such subgenres as Acid trance, Progressive trance, Classic trance and Uplifting Trance. Euro trance is very close Uplifting trance. Vocal trance developed using the pop songs ground. The blend of ambient and trance is called Ambient trance. Ibiza trance is a Balearic beat. Robert Miles invented the Dream trance, which is called "Dream House" as well.
Goa trance is invented India and has some distinctive features in comparison with European trance music. The Psychedelic Trance influenced a lot on Goa trance music. Psychedelic trance music is very popular in Israel. The psychedelic trance producers such as Yahel Sherman and Infected Mushroom became world known. The blend of Psychedelic and uplifting trance is called the Nitzhonot, which was invented in Israel as well.
In the middle of the 1990s trance music became quite popular all over the world. The basis of modern trance music is grounded on Progressive trance. Progressive trance were based on lead melodies and anthemic bass lines. In such way, the popular elements of trance became common.
The uplifting trance, which was different, became very popular in the 1990s. The longer breakdowns and the buildups, steady build, featuring an introduction of uplifting trance were the distinctive features of the Uplifting trance music. Uplifting trance utilized the female vocals generally. Trance became quite popular because it was more edge, more melodic than techno and more soothing. These features gave trance a big audience of fans. Trance has the characteristics such as form 130 to 160 BPM tempo, 32 beat phrases and 4/4 time signature. Trance music is faster than house and slower than psychedelic trance. All downbeats contain the kicks of drum. Sometimes the extra percussive elements are used in trance music.
A lot of trance tracks are formed by synthesizers, which is a main element in trance compositions creations. The sawtooth-based sounds are usually utilized for long and short pizzicato elements, the sweeping string sounds. The synthesizers are a source of acid sound in trance music creation. The main part of trance music track do not use vocals at all, however some tracks are rich on vocals. The quality of trance tracks' sounds depends on the support of technology. Some producers of trance music still use old equipment such as Oberheim, Moog and Roland. Some trance music producers utilize the delay effects, vocals and the reverb. The trance music producers try to achieve the originality and the high quality of sound. The producers always feel free to use sounds, which are not like natural sounds and frequently use flangers and phasers effects.
Some trance music tracks are created with help of sparser intros and outros and their blends. Some DJs use "build up and strip down" in time of outros and intros. Trance music is very harmonic and melodic and the construction is supposes to be important, because it can prevent dissonant.
Trance always gathered the big crowds of fans all over the world and its festivals were accompanied with the laser shows and effects of pyrotechnic. The biggest trance festivals were made in Europe. Three companies such as ID&T, UDC and Q-Dance always organize trance music festivals. Trance is quite popular genre in Great Britain, North America, Canada and other countries. There are a lot of night clubs all over the world, which play trance music all the time. These clubs gather a lot of trance fans all the time. Trance music became the most preferred music for a big quantity of people in the whole world.
