In 2006 Los Angeles based MC Aceyalone joined forces with Philadelphia based producer and DJ RJD2 to release Magnificent City. Singles released off of Magnificent City were "Fire"/"Heaven" and "Supahero"/"Disconnected." The combo brought together a rare collaboration of East and West Coast indie hip-hop. Shortly after the release and subsequent tour RJD2 took a break from hip-hop to concentrate on a more eclectic sound with The Third Hand, where he sung and played instruments on almost every track.
