There are (at least) 2 different groups using this name: (1)Estampie is a medieval band from Germany, founded in 1985 by Syrah (Sigrid Hausen), Michael Popp, and Ernst Schwindl. (Syrah and Michael Popp are also members of the spin off band Qntal , featuring similarly-inspired medieval music, but with a more electronic feel). The band took their name from a medieval dancing style with lots of stomping of the feet.
